APRIL announces international $100/tonne hike for its fine paper range over May, June
COLOGNE, Germany, 26 April 2022 (Fastmarkets RISI) - Asia Pacific Resources International (APRIL) has announced its intention to raise prices for its fine paper range internationally, by $100/tonne for orders over May and June.
Depending on the market, the increase will either go through all at once or be split into monthly increments.
APRIL ascribed the price increase to high freight and raw material costs.
It also cited recovering demand in several markets, particularly India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, as schools and offices fully reopen after years of COVID-19-related restrictions.
“The feedback in many markets is that paper demand has recovered to pre-COVID-19 levels,” a contact from the company said. “Yet [paper] supply is limited, due to high freight costs and many conversion projects over the last two years.
